Dan River

The Dan River offers some of the finest recreational paddling in the North Carolina Piedmont. Originating in Patrick County, Virginia, it loops southward into Stokes and Rockingham counties before returning to Virginia. Most sections feature gentle Class I moving water with occasional Class II rapids, making it an ideal river for half-day or full-day kayak trips.
